Chelsea Australian Garden at Olinda

This garden is in full bloom, with breathtaking views of the Yarra Ranges. We spotted brilliantly coloured blooms of rhododendrons, azaleas, camellias, cherries, and daffodils. The highlight of this place is the Chelsea Garden. The pathway and the views are mesmerizing. The gates open daily from 10 am to 4.30 pm.

The Dandenong Ranges Botanic Garden

Just a 5 min walk from the Chelsea Australian Garden, grab a picnic basket and unwind with the stunning Yarra Ranges views.

The spring bloom is at its best, and the trail walks offer you time with kids to explore the various tracks. There’s also a cafe located at the entrance of the Botanical Garden.

The Olinda Tea House

With all the walking and exploration, we were hungry, and our lunch stopover was at the Olinda Tea House.

Nested in the heart of the Dandenong Ranges, this Asian fusion restaurant offers dining with amazing views.

And did I tell you the kids can feed the alpacas, too?

 RJ Hamer Arboretum
Enjoy soaking up the much-needed relaxing views of the Yarra Ranges, offering scenic and hilly walking trails.

Olinda Shops

Before we head to our dinner place, we thought of exploring the local Olinda shops. The local boutiques are always a great place to shop some of the hand-made products. Great place to grab an ice cream or a coffee from the boutique cafes.

Babaji’s Kerala Kitchen

you can stop by to relish some Indian (Desi) food at Babaji’s Kerala Kitchen.

You can not afford to miss out on their vegetarian and non-vegetarian thalis and homemade Mango Lassi.

My daughter relished her kids’ size butter chicken and rice thali.

So, that’s how we bring an end to our weekend at the Yarra Valley & Dandenong Ranges.

you can’t wait to come back and explore this region of Victoria again.
